What the doctor will need from you

So there are no surprises. This is the usual list for this treatment.

Before you travel

Things to gather at home. Photographs of documents are fine — they do not need to be originals.

  • Your most recent ultrasound report

For fibroids, cysts and most gynecological surgery the ultrasound is the map: size, position and number decide the operation and whether it can be laparoscopic.

  • Smear test or biopsy results, if takenIf you have it

Anything involving the cervix or the uterine lining is planned around these results.

  • Reports from any previous surgery or treatmentIf you have it

What was done before decides what can be done now. Photographs of the reports are fine.

  • A list of every medicine you take

Blood thinners, diabetes medicine and some supplements change how the operation is planned, and a few have to be paused beforehand.

After you arrive in Türkiye

The hospital does these. They are included in your package and usually take one morning.

  • Examination and a fresh ultrasound

The surgeon scans again on the hospital’s own machines before any operation — findings can change in months, and the plan follows today’s picture, not last year’s.

  • Blood tests

A blood count, clotting profile, blood sugar, and screening for hepatitis B, hepatitis C and HIV. Standard before any operation, and usually done the morning you arrive.

  • Anaesthesia assessment

The anaesthetist meets you before the operation to check your heart, chest and medicines, and to agree the plan with the surgeon.

What the doctor will ask you

Worth thinking about before the consultation. Clear answers here save a day.

  • What symptoms do you have — bleeding, pain, pressure?
  • How are your cycles, and has anything changed recently?
  • How many pregnancies and deliveries have you had?
  • Do you plan future pregnancies? It changes the surgical choice.
  • Any previous abdominal or gynecological surgery?

You do not have to do this alone

Every patient is different. Once the doctor has read your file they may ask for one or two more things before confirming your plan — that is normal, and it is a sign your case is being looked at properly rather than waved through. If it happens, we tell you exactly what is needed and why, and you will see it added to this list.

If you cannot get a test at home, tell us. Most of them can be done in Türkiye instead, and we will arrange it.
